Accounting and Finance Manager

BSc (Hons)

What job types are likely to want to apply and what career will you end up with?

This apprenticeship is ideal for those who currently hold an AAT Level 3/4 Professional Accounting qualification working as accountants, or finance professionals, and looking to advance in financial management roles. Graduates can pursue careers as Finance Managers, Accountants, or Financial Analysts, positioning themselves for leadership roles in various financial sectors.

What is this apprenticeship about?

This apprenticeship is designed to bridge the educational gap between AAT Level 3/4 and Professional Accounting Level 7 qualifications, preparing the next generation of finance managers for a digital-first world. It equips learners with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in accounting and finance management, with a special emphasis on systems and digital competencies.

Who is it for?

The course is open to applicants with a AAT Level 3/4 Professional Accounting qualification. Delivered through a blend of live online sessions, e-learning, and face-to-face days, this apprenticeship ensures learners can apply their skills directly in the workplace and in relevant systems. Transform your finance team with our apprenticeship program.

What is the outcome from the apprenticeship (qualification and skills gained)?

Over 3.5 years, apprentices progress from bookkeeping to advanced accounting, auditing, and finance, culminating in a BSc (Hons) in Accounting and Finance Management and exemptions from professional body exams, supported by practical workplace experience and a strategic change project. Apprentices will be able eligible to apply for Intermediate level membership of the Institute of Financial Accountants and we propose to seek significant exemptions from other professional body exams such as ACCA and CIMA.

How is learning undertaken?

Learning is undertaken through a structured and blended approach, involving both synchronous and asynchronous activities. Each year, learners engage with four modules over 16-week periods, two modules at a time. Learning includes live online sessions for direct interaction with tutors, a-synchronous tasks such as videos and exercises, and a mid-module face-to-face Deep Dive Day for in-depth exploration and hands-on practice. This is supplemented by independent study, where learners consolidate knowledge, engage in wider reading, and apply their learning in real-world contexts.
